One of the important things that I have come to realize is that consistency is the key. This isn't going to happen overnight, so even if you don't see results for a month, or you hit a plateau, you need to stay with it because you will get there. Whatever you do, don't give up, you will regret it in the long run.

Take Pictures
Sometimes you really don't realize how far you have come until you look at pictures. The scale might stay the same, you might not feel different, etc. I always recommend taking pictures. You won't believe the transformation once you compare them. Here are some updated pictures of my transformation in progress.
The shorts in these pics are the exact same ones!!!! Amazing what you can accomplish in 9 months.

Don't Quit
How did you do over the holiday weekend? Did you overindulge in food and drink? I did. We had a lot going on and I wanted to enjoy it. What matters is that I get back on track. No matter how you did over the weekend, put it in the past and get back on track. Remember your goal and DON'T QUIT.
I got up this morning and did Fire 45 EZ and burned over 700 calories and then had my Shakeology. Great way to start the day and get back at it!
Remember this is not a diet but a lifestyle change. You will overindulge, you will drink, you will feel guilty but get back up and keep going!!!

Small Changes Make A Big Difference
Are you new to fitness and nutrition or are you getting back into it after a long time? One piece of advice I can give you is make small changes because in the long run they add up to make a big difference. I have found that if you jump in and don't give yourself some slack, you will fail, I have.
Why have I been so successful this time? Because I made small changes. (disclaimer: I am not a nutritionist or anything of the sort, I am just sharing what has worked for me as a working mom, with 2 little kids)
Nutrition:
I swapped my breakfast and drank Shakeology every morning. Then I started bringing my lunch and snacks to work because if I didn't I was more likely to grab whatever there was in the kitchen, and none of it was healthy. Dinner, I started making smarter choices. I swapped white rice for brown rice. I swapped ground beef for ground turkey or ground chicken. One of the most important changes I made is that if I think that it will hinder, or I won't have self control, I don't allow it in my house because if it isn't here, I can't eat it.
I started my workouts with Slim in 6. The first couple of workouts, I thought I was going to die. I mean I hadn't worked out in a long long long time and I was really overweight. I did Slim in 6 for 6 weeks and that was the only workout I did. Then I moved on to Turbofire and so on. I didn't start with doing 60 minute workouts or doing hybrids. I started with one and kept with one workout for a long time.
The most important thing I want to emphasize is that I am human, we all are and we will miss workouts, we will slip up in our eating. Let's face it we have party's to go to, we have kids and we only live once. Ok you have a dessert or a couple handfuls of chips, whatever it is, just don't make it a habit. You did it, now fix it and get back on track.
This isn't something you are doing temporarily it is a NEW LIFESTYLE so embrace it, find what works for you and do it. Don't compare yourself to others, because everyone is different.

Finally!
I have broken through my plateau! For over a month I have been at the same weight and today I stepped on the scale, I haven't in over 2 weeks, and I have now officially lost OVER 65 pounds!!!
You know how I broke through my plateau? By eating more. Yes you read that right, eating more. I was eating around 1200 calories and since I started lifting I was constantly hungry. So I decided to up my calories. I am averaging between 1300 - 1400 a day now and apparently it is working because I lost!!!
I am also constantly eating throughout the day. I am sure people at work are thinking, does she ever stop!!! I never go longer than 3 hours without eating, because if I do I end up starving and eating the wrong things and my body goes into starvation mode. I constantly eat to keep my metabolism constantly going.
Are you at a plateau? Look at everything you are doing? Do you need to change your workout ? Do you need to eat more? Are you eating the wrong things? It is different for everyone. Don't do what I did because it worked for me and may not work for you. You need to figure out what will work for you!
